The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on December 11, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Big Shot Bob’s House of Wings was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Raw chicken was stored above raw burgers in the line prep cooler. Corrected.
  • Bad odor apparently coming from grease traps. One grease trap has blue duct tape around top edges.
  • The filters in hood system have excessive grease build up. Light shields in prep area have dead insects.
  • Excessive grease under cooking equipment and around grease trap.
  • The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view.
  • Paper towel dispenser empty at the hand wash sink in the prep area. REPEAT VIOLATION (8/20/18)
  • Deli meat stacked above cold well pan causing top product to be 47F. Meat in bottom of pan at 35F. Top meat moved to walk-in cooler to chill.
  • Thermometers for ensuring proper temperatures of food are not available or readily accessible.
  • Torn rubber door gasket observed on the walk-in cooler.
  • Plastic tableware is not stored so that only handles are touched by employees.
  • No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the prep area to remind food employees to wash their hands. REPEAT VIOLATION (8/20/18)
