11 violations Charlie’s Pizzeria East Norriton; “Facility is prepping pizza dough on tray on top of trashcan”

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 9/1/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Charlie’s Pizzeria in East Norriton Township was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Current MCOPH food establishment license not posted

  • Facility lacking sign posted in public view stating MCOPH inspection reports are available upon request

  • Facility lacking current MCOPH CFSM certificate (Repeat violation) Facility has 30 business days to provide proof of enrollment in certified food handling class/exam. Reciprocity application was left at time of inspection

  • Lysol spray bottle stored on storage shelf with dry good food products

  • Facility is prepping pizza dough on tray on top of trash can

  • Ice scoop stored inside of ice machine.

  • Packing material on side of ice machine starting to peel

  • Fan guards in retail unit #3 unclean with dust build up(Repeat violation)

  • Door frame of continental 3 door cooler unclean

  • Floor unclean throughout back prep and ware wash area(3 times Repeat violation)

  • Ceiling tiles stained in front of pizza oven area(Repeat violation)
