The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/14/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Bakery Los Hermanos was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 15 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Employee beverage stored on food prep surface.
- The manufacture’s and/or processor’s label provided with food products fails to comply with all current Federal, State, and Local Labeling Laws as specified in MC Public Health Code. Multiple RTE items labeled in Spanish only.
- Date marking lacking on food containers in refrigeration.
- Product lacking common names in reach-in cooler.
- Front and back doors propped open upon arrival. (access to vermin)
- Food items uncovered in cooler.
- Employee medication stored next to prep table.
- Tongs hanging on storage shelf upright.
- Cup used as scoop in container.
- Ice build-up in chest freezer.
- Microwave interior unclean.
