The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/13/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Taqueria Los Jimadores was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 18 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility operating without a MCOPH license. Facility has 5 business days to submit license application and appropriate fee.

  • Lacking single service towels for hand sink.

  • Raw chicken stored over ready-to-eat foods in 2-door kitchen cooler. Raw eggs stored over ready-to-eat foods in 3-door retail cooler.

  • Food items in 2-door kitchen cooler observed with an internal temperature greater that 41F. Facility voluntarily discarded all items.

  • Date marking lacking on food containers in 2-door kitchen cooler.

  • 22 cans of Raid observed in facility. Facility using fly tape traps.

  • 2-door cooler in kitchen not holding temperature at or below 41F. Facility may not use unit until holding at 41F.

  • Fly-like insects observed throughout the facility. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH

  • Ice build-up in multiple freezers.

  • Towel used as liner under pot in 2-door kitchen cooler.

  • Fan guard lacking in 2-door cooler in kitchen.

  • Coca-Cola cooler draining into pan under unit. Water spilling onto the floor.

  • Racks in 2-door kitchen cooler unclean.

  • Hot water under pressure not available at 3-bay ware washing sink. Facility has five business days to restore hot water under pressure.

  • 2 times repeat violation: Covered waste receptacle lacking in unisex restroom.

  • Dumpster lids open at time of inspection.

  • 2 times repeat violation: Damaged floor tiles throughout kitchen.

  • Stained ceiling tiles in kitchen and dining area.
