2nd inspection fail this year, McDonalds Belle Vernon hit for small, gnat-like insects in dining room following complaint from public

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/27/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the McDonald’s was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 1 violations were found.

McDonald’s in Belle Vernon was cited for a similar violation in January, “Facility has presence of small, flying, gnat-like insects mainly in dining room and bathrooms” according to the Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility has presence of small, gnat-like insects in dining room. Pest control company visits weekly (today was last visit) and will continue to visit to treat issue. REPEAT VIOLATION (1-3-20)
