7-11 in North Wales hit with 11 violations by Health Department; Dried food residue at the nozzle area of cheese and chili dispenser , 11 violations

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/19-2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the 7-11 in North Wales was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Photocopy of food license posted in public view; post original license.

  • No written procedure for managing vomitus and/or fecal incidents to minimize the spread of contamination and exposure; sample clean-up procedure issued today.

  • No single service towel at ware washing area hand sink.

  • No employee hand wash reminder signs in employee toilet room hand sink and hand sink in ware washing room.

  • No ambient thermometers in packaged foods display refrigerator

  • Opened packages of beverage bottles stored on the floor of walk-in refrigerator.

  • Knives stored in crevice of hand sink and prep counter.

  • Dried food residue at the nozzle area of cheese and chili dispenser and excess food debris behind counter top equipment in serving area.

  • Exterior dumpster lids left open.

  • Soiled flooring in employee toilet room and excess trash/debris on the floor of walk-in refrigerator.

  • Ceiling fluorescent lights in single service utensil storage room and compact fluorescent light in pretzel warmer display unit not shielded or shatter resistant.
