The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/25/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the NAME was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Beverage bottles stored in ware washing are hand sink.

  • No readily visible ambient thermometer in retail prepackaged foods refrigerator and coffee condiment drop-in refrigerator.

  • Loose beverage bottles stored on the floor in storage area.

  • Opened boxes of single service cups stored on the floor in storage area.

  • Used gloves and facial mask stored on stacked napkins on prep area.

  • Used gloves not discarded after single use task.

  • Spillage and debris on shelves near pretzel baking oven at front prep and serve area.

  • Used mop bucket waste water not disposed after use.

  • Peeling surface material on the ceiling of walk-in refrigerator.

  • 5Peeling surface of ceiling tiles in rear ware washing area.

  • Incidental spillage of soda syrup not cleaned after spillage in storage room.

  • Employee observed with no facial covering at the food prep/serve/cashier area; addressed and facial mask worn during the inspection.
