9 violations at Lisa’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant; Employee beverage stored on slicer, Kitchen hand sink not operational

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/2/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Lisa’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant in Telford was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Open employee beverage stored on slicer. Facility removed beverage, clean and sanitize slicer before next use.

  • Kitchen hand sink not operational, facility must use third bay of 3 bay sink to wash hands. Clean and sanitize bay before using to wash dishes. Repair sink within 24 hours, EHS to follow up.

  • Raw meat stored over ready to eat foods in walk-in cooler. Ensure foods stored by cooking temperature.

  • Chicken wings cooling at room temperature. Facility moved to walk-in cooler.

  • Facility using food prep sink to dump drinks and ice. Ensure prep sink is used for food prep only. Facility must wash and sanitize sink before using for food prep.

  • Cooked chicken wings stored in cardboard box. Facility moved to food-grade container.

  • Improper scoops in dry food items. Ensure scoops have proper handles.

  • Mop and mop bucket stored outside. Store inside, mop must be stored hanging or inverted between use.

  • Loose and missing ceiling tiles in basement. Repair or replace.
