The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/5/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the American Family Market was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- A Facility lacking current MCOPH CFSM certificate (Repeat violation) facility has 30 business days to provide MCOPH with proof of enrollment in a certified food safety course/exam. Fax to 610-278-5167
- Raw eggs stored over ready to eat food items in retail case cooler
- Rodent like droppings observed in back prep area on floor behind meat slicer. The Facility must immediately clean and sanitize the area. The Facility must be treated by professional pest control service for the above mentioned pest. Report must be provided to MCOPH with in ten business days. Fax or email the service report to the contacts provided by the EHS.
- Cardboard lining retail shelf with potato chips.
