Bahama Breeze in King of Prussia fouls inspection; Dead roach like insects observed in deck area, 14 violations

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/6/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Bahama Breeze Island Grille was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 14 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • MCOPH Certified Food Sanitation Manager Certificate not posted at time of inspection. Facility posted a void duplicate copy.

  • Lacking paper towels at hand sink in ware washing area.

  • Can opener blade unclean

  • Dead roach like insects observed in deck area. EHS received copy of pest control dated 3/6/2020. Facility has scheduled another follow-up in inspection on 3/9/2020.

  • Container/box of food stored on floor inside walk in freezer.

  • Bulk seasoning containers lacking lids in dry storage room.

  • Interior of 2 door cold holding unit is unclean at bar.

  • Hose lacking on drip pan for soda gun holster above bulk ice bin behind bar.

  • Missing tiles on wall across from ice machines.

  • Heavy packaging debris under shelves inside dry storage room.

  • Heavy ice build-up on outside wall of walk in freezer.

  • Ceiling tiles by dish machine unclean.

  • Ventilation hood system above dish machine not operating at time of inspection. Facility has work order/parts ordered.

  • Ceiling vent by dish machine with dust build-up
