The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/24/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Asian Halal Meat and Kabab was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • The handwash sink in the meat cutting room is clogged and barely draining.
    Clear drain to allow for adequate handwashing.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/24/2020  
  • Packages of individual Golden Pomfret fish, in clear plastic bags within the Pinnacle 4-door freezer, were found unlabeled and un-sealed.
    All food products for individual sale must be labeled to show contents, origin, manufacturer and/or distributor.
    Cases are being opened to sell individual fish.
    Sale if items in the manner must be immediately discontinued.  Repeat Violation.
  • Several products held in the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer are not being covered.
    Cover all products in refrigerators to prevent contamination.  Repeat Violation.
  • Rodent droppings were observed in the facility restroom and dry storage areas.
    Contact facility’s exterminator for additional monitoring and/or treatment.  Repeat Violation.  
  • Air gaps are present:
    1. Astragal gap between the front glass doors.
    2. Below rear door to facility.
    Provide door sweeps to prevent pest entry.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 03/09/2020 (gaps allow access for vermin)
  • Food was found being stored on the floor besides the back door as well as on the floor of the walk-in freezer.
    All food and food-related products must be stored at least six inches above the floor.  Repeat Violation.  
  • Single-use meat trays are being stored outside on wire rack shelving.
    Trays must be stored inside facility.  Repeat Violation.  
  • Single-use cups were found in-use as scooping utensils in the produce walk-in cooler as well as the rice cooker.
    A handled scoop must be used to dispense food product. If scoop is stored in product, handle must’ve oriented upwards and out of the food.  Repeat Violation.  
  • Grease is accumulating on and around the grease dumpster.
    Grease must be cleaned and properly discarded.  New Violation.
