The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted a follow-up retail food inspection on 2/13/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Blue Bell Pizza was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.
The restaurant failed a regular inspection on January 30, 2020 with 25 violations including being cited for, “Roach-like insects observed throughout facility.”
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Cutting board with deep grooves and heavy discoloration throughout (2 times repeat violation)-new ones are on order
- Common name label lacking on squeeze bottle at cooks line. (Repeat violation)
- Exposed pizza boxes stored in hallways leading to customer restrooms. (Repeat violation)
- Damaged ceiling tiles in hallways leading to restrooms and by 3 compartment sink. (2 times repeat violation)
- Few unapproved ceiling tiles in pizza prep area(R)
