The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture¬† conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/14/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the BP Five Points Gas and Go was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Prepackaged hoagies food are not labeled properly with the name of product, ingredient & sub ingredient statement, net weight. REPEAT VIOLATION (1/25/19)
  • Observed walk-in cooler fan guard with an accumulation of dust/dirt and in need of cleaning.
  • Black filth, pink slime observed on the interior of the ice machine bin, around water distribution tubing and freeze plate and underneath at discharge chute. DO NOT USE. Please empty ice machine COMPLETELY!! Wash, Rinse and Sanitize all parts and allow to air dry before refilling. This machine WAS NOT cleaned during the time of this inspection and bagged ice will be utilized until approval is obtained.
  • Observed dried food debris, syrup, bottles, lids and paper in walk in cooler. 3RD REPEAT VIOLATION (1/12/18 & 1/25/19)
  • Cartons of eggs improperly stored above other foods inside reach in cooler.
