The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 9, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Bullskin Elementary School was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Observed homemade house dressing being stored in cold holding unit with no label. Facility labeled container to identify product. Corrected on site.
- Observed dish washing machine not reaching temperature. Measuring device for final rinse was not reaching 180*F. Calibrated thermometer. Internal temperature for max hold was 156*F. Unit is shut down. Facility is converting to 3-compartment sink in meantime until corrected.
- Observed black residue located inside the ice machine. Unit was discarded, cleaned and sanitized during inspection. Corrected on site.
