The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/21/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Burger King on Millersville Pile was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Food employees observed preparing food, while wearing watches.
- Food employee (manager) observed dispensing French fries and nuggets, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, or hats.
- Prepared food observed beneath uncovered vents.
- Pink and black residue up inside the ice maker.
- Observed old food residue and grease on the black food trays stored as clean.
- Static dust observed on the brackets of the computer display screens where orders are displayed.
- Food debris and grease build-up on the floor beneath the frying equipment.
- Observed water leaking from the pipe beneath the hand-wash sink in the lady’s restroom.
- Broken and missing tiles inside the mop sink.
