China One in Dover fouls inspection; 9 violations, No soap at hand sink, face masks hanging next to knives on wall

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/15/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations China One in Dover was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Observed face masks stored hanging next to knives on wall above prep unit.
  • Soap was not available at the handwash sink in the kitchen area. (COS)
  • A Food Employee was observed washing their hands at the 3-compartment sink rather than the designated handwash sink. (COS)
  • Shelving in walk-in refrigerator and under steam table, and flooring in walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer observed to be dirty and in need of cleaning.
  • Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed pipe leaking at the hand sink in kitchen area of food facility.
  • Floor under cooking equipment and in dry storage area and ceiling throughout the food facility is extremely dirty, dusty, and in need of cleaning.
  • Observed raw chicken stored over ready-to-eat food in walk-in refrigerator.
  • Food (flour, rice, sugar) stored uncovered in dry storage area of food facility.
  • Observed food stored directly on the floor in walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required.
  • Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in refrigerator, is not being date marked.
