China Palace in Norrsitown bumbles inspection; Rodent-like droppings observed on shelves/floors in facility, 8 violations says Health Department

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/14/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the China Palace was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Raw food stored over ready to eat food items walk-in refrigerator

  • Rodent-like droppings observed on shelves/floors in facility. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH

  • Food and paper goods stored in employee restroom(must remove)

  • Use of plastic bowl to dispense dry food item(must use proper scoop with handle)

  • Food stored on floor walk-in refrigerator

  • Sides of cook line equipment unclean

  • Floors under cook line equipment unclean

  • Filters above cook line equipment unclean
