The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 4/29/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations The Classic Diner- Catering was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Department confirmed that 1 employee dumped gray water into the municipal storm drain in the rear alley. Grey water must be dumped into the facility’s mop sink only. Note: cooking oil waste must be stored in a grease drum to be collected and properly disposed. See additional notes in comments.
  • The large dock garage-style door was found open. There was no loading or unloading occurring. As noted on plan approval letter and subsequent inspection reports, exterior doors and windows must remain closed to protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals. Close door.
