Allentown Health Bureau conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/26/21 following receipt of a complaint. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Wendy’s Restaurant on Union BLVD was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Bacon in the hot hold unit on the prep table in the back of the store was left out with no covering. The package for the raw bacon in the walk in cooler was opened and left open on a shelf. Cover all food product when it is not being used.
- The prep counter in the back of the store had smears of food left on it. Sanitize food contact surfaces after use.
- Random items are present in the storage room behind the three bay sink as well as in the office. Remove unnecessary items from these locations.
- The floor under the deep fryer has accumulated a pool of grease. Clean the floor beneath the fryer.
- Rodent droppings were observed in the dining room as well as in the back storage room. Continue with a regular pest control program. Clean floors where droppings are observed.
