The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/4/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Margaritas Mexican Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • 2 soda guns observed unclean at bar area. Clean.

  • Observed frozen fish thawing in vacuum packaging. Facility opened all packaging during inspection.

  • Dead fly like insects observed in light shield in dry storage area. Clean.

  • Observed tableware stored under steam table in kitchen area with water from steam table dripping on them. Facility removed to wash, rinse, and sanitize.

  • Dish machine at bar showing no sanitizer concentration. Facility changed and refreshed sanitizer. Sanitizer is now at the proper concentration.

  • Ice build up observed around walk-in freezer door. Clean

  • Some grease like debris observed on exterior of fryers. Clean

  • Walk-in fan guards observed with dust like debris. Clean

  • Observed leak at hand sink near dry storage area. Repair.
