The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/12/2021. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the East Fallowfield Elementary was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- At the exterior door in the kitchen, the door is not tight-fitting in the frame. Make all necessary repairs to ensure the door is tight-fitting and vector proof.
- Numerous mouse droppings found throughout the kitchen including the following areas:
- a. Floor behind the milk cooler next to the 2-door Freezer
- b. Shelves in the dry storage room
- c. Storage area by register behind makeshift curtained area Facilities Department provided recent pest control report from 1/4/2021.
- 1. Thoroughly clean and sanitize the affected areas immediately
- 2. Have facility treated by pest control operator immediately and follow recommendations; ensure all monitoring boards are date marked
- 3. Seal all holes including around the kettle supply line and floor next to the register
- 4. Clean and organize the dry storage room
- 5. Clean and organize the area behind the makeshift curtain near the register where decorations and other items are stored
- Conor (name redacted) has completed a Serv Safe course but does not have a Chester County Certified Food Manager Certificate. Complete the application and submit within ten days. Food facility must have at least one full-time employee as a Chester County Certified Food Manager.
