The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 6, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Rite Aid on Boot Road in East Goshen Township was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Clean floors in storage room, especially under the shelves.
- Over a dozen containers of foods were found for sale in the retail area with dates past the “sell by” or “use by” dates such as dairy products, baby formula and protein packs. Discard these foods. Monitor the dates closely and remove foods that have expired dating. NOTE: Correct on-site.
