The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/25/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Salad Words was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Facility lacking a Certified Food Sanitation Manager (CFSM) issued by Montgomery County Office of Public Health (MCOPH) or previous certificate has expired. Facility must submit application and payment OR proof of registration in an approved course with in 30 days. EHS emailed copy of reciprocity application and fee schedule.

Employee beverage stored on food prep surface.

Knife at salad display cooler stored between equipment.

Single service containers stored with food contact surface exposed.

Facility lacking chlorine test papers to verify concentration of chlorine sanitizing solution in dish machine.

Fan guards in walk-in cooler are unclean.

Mold-like growth observed on racks in walk-in cooler.
