The City of Easton Bureau of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/25/2020.* As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Family Dollar was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • The entire receiving/storage area of this facility must be cleaned. Remove unnecessary items, clean the entire floor to remove mice droppings and litter.
  • Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodent activity in storage/receiving area of this facility. Mice droppings were observed in this area. Person in charge states that the managers are working with a pest control company to remove the mice from the store and prevent them from entering the store. Continue the treatments until the mice have been eliminated.
  • Mops are not being hung to air dry. A mop was observed in the utility sink. Clean the mop bucket and mops heads. Hang the mops up so that they are allowed to air dry.
