The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 5/4/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Dollar General #20354 was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Main entrance doors located in the front area of the food facility have a gap at the bottom and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
  • Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the back storage area due to excessive back stock. Areas are inaccessible to properly inspect. Large number of old droppings obseverd on shelving in this area.
