The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 4/21/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Ringtown Lunas Pizzeria was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Open beverage container observed in side food preparation area (side which includes 3-bay sink). *Corrected*
  • Quaternary ammonium test strips to be expired.
  • Observed can opener blade and surrounding flat surfaces to have presence of old food debris and/or metal sharding. *Corrected*
  • Observed food employee sneeze, then proceeded back to food preparation without proper hand wash.
  • Old food debris and grease located on flooring below deep-fry units.
  • Observed old food residue/debris located in the following areas: floors below Bain-Marie cooling unit, floors behind small alcove chest freezers, and floors behind dry storage area chest cooler
  • Frying pan stored directly inside main hand wash sink, indicating uses other than hand wash. *Corrected*
  • Steady leak located on facility 3-bay sink faucet.
  • The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of the PA Food Code as evident by violations observed in this inspection report.
