The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/10/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Wawa #278 was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- At the customer self-service bakery case, no ingredient or allergen information was available for the following items: – chocolate croissant – cheese croissant – blueberry & cheese croissant Provide this information in the binder (located at case) and ensure this information is provided for ALL products located within the case.
- Clean the soiled ceiling surfaces above the deli/sandwich preparation kiosk.
- There is no Chester County Certified Food Manager (CFM) enlisted at this facility. At least one full-time employee must submit a valid food safety certificate, complete county CFM application process and post county CFM certificate in public view. Facility must notify Department of there is a change of CFM.
- Approximately one dozen containers of EXPIRED milks were observed in refrigerators intended for use or sale in the facility. Discard these products. Routinely inspect dates on foods and remove/discard expired foods.
