Complaint Inspection; Flourtown Dunkin’ Donuts turns off hot water to sink, bumbles inspection tagged with 7 violations

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/23/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Dunkin’ Donuts in Flourtownwas cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Food handler observed changing gloves without washing hands prior to donning new gloves.
  • Facility lacking means of drying hands at all handwashing sinks in kitchen area. Facility supplied sinks with paper towels during inspection.
  • All foods in sandwich prep refrigerator observed with internal temperatures between 45-47F. Facility relocated all foods to other refrigeration units confirmed to be holding an approved cold holding temperature at time of inspection.
  • Squeeze tube of Taylor machine lubricant stored amongst and above syrups on dry storage rack.
  • All foods in sandwich prep refrigerator observed with internal temperatures of 45-47F at time of inspection. Facility must immediately stop using the unit. Facility may not use the unit until serviced by licensed professional, AND unit is operating at 41F or below, AND written permission is granted by MCOPH. Fax service report to the email provided at time of inspection. Failure to comply or await permission before using unit may lead to legal action.
  • Facility observed storing container of icing on top of bags of ice melt in rear dry storage area.
  • No hot water supplied to three compartment sink at time of inspection. Facility stated hot water was turned off due to leak at hot water faucet of three compartment sink. Facility returned hot water supply to sink at time of inspection. A 24-hour follow-up inspection will be conducted to ensure that faucet is repaired.
