The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/17/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Giant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Top of the ice cuber in the Starbucks prep area ice maker is not clean. A mold-like substance is forming. It has already been turned off, emptied and cleaned and disinfected.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.  
  • Evaporator fan in the smaller meat walk-in refrigerator has ice build-up and the ice is dripping onto the floor. Remove ice and clean and dry affected area.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 06/18/2020 
  • The clean dish table next to the sanitizer compartment of the 3-compartment sink in the back deli ware washing room, is not clean. Make sure that this area is cleaned and sanitized prior to doing any ware washing at this sink. Clean and sanitize affected area today.  New Violation.  
  • Floor and back section of the chicken fryer in the back prep room is not clean. Much grease has accumulated. Clean affected area and maintain thereafter.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 06/18/2020  
  • One of the walls in the milk walk-in refrigerator is falling into disrepair and is splitting at the seams, exposing subsurface materials. Repair and refinish this wall area.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 09/11/2020
