The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/28/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Rosario’s Pizza was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility with open original bag of flour at back dough prep area.

  • Facility lacking approved date markings on TCS food items. Facility instructed that TCS food items prepared on site or who’s packaging has been pierced should include a discard date not to exceed seven days beyond the date item is prepared or packaging has been pierced; for items not meant for use within 24hrs.

  • (4 times repeat violation) mouse like droppings observed on shelving of table at front prep area. Facility instructed to wash, rinse, sanitize all effected and hire professional pest control services for aforementioned pest. Facility instructed to provide professional pest control operators report within ten business days.

  • Personal use beverage stored mixed with retail items at pizza prep cooler. Voluntarily relocated by facility.

  • Scoop lacking handle at multiple items in reach in freezer adjacent on cooks line.

  • Facility storing food prep item at open original can inside two door reach in cooler. Facility voluntarily relocated to approved food storage container.

  • Debris on interior of two door reach in cooler across from walk in cooler.

  • Debris / ice accumulation on interior of reach in freezer at across from restrooms.

  • Mop stored drying in bucket. Voluntarily relocated by facility.

  • Debris observed/ built up on floors under equipment, prep tables and sinks. Facility instructed to clean area.
