The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 3, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Irwin was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Observed accumulation of dust/dirt/Grease on the Deep fryers in kitchen area (Cook Line) cooler.Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue and other debris. REPEAT VIOLATION (1/17/2019)
- Can opener, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
- Observed Walk-in cooler and freezer floors, non-food contact surfaces, not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.
- Soda dispensing nozzles and surrounding area, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
- Observed ventilation hood above fryers/cook line, a non-food contact surface not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of grease, dirt, and soil.
- Sheet Pans, a food contact surface, was observed to have encrusted food residue and debris and was not clean to sight and touch.
