The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 7/29/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Facility operating without a current MCOPH license. Facility has 5 business days to submit license application and appropriate fee. Failure to comply could lead to legal action, citations and or closure. License invoice emailed to facility at time of inspection.

  • Facility lacking a current MCOPH CFSM. Facility has 1 month to submit reciprocity application or submit proof of registration in an approved food safety course.

  • Fly-like insects observed under soda machine counter in the dining area. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH Failure to comply could lead to legal action, citations and or closure.

  • Single service food contact items stored on the floor underneath the soda machine in the dining area. 3x repeat

  • Water, leaking from the walk in cooler ceiling, accumulating on the walk in cooler floor

  • Dust build-up on the ceiling tiles surrounding the food prep ceiling vents.
