The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 18, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the NAME was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • (Repeat violation) Slicer observed with dried food debris accumulation.
  • (Repeat violation) Can opener blade observed unclean. Opener removed for proper washing.
  • Sliced lunch meats and packages held in facility for more than 24 hours missing discard date markings (2-door reach-in refrig.). Label should indicate the date by which the food shall be consumed on the premises, sold or discarded; date not to exceed 7 days.
  • (5 times repeat violation) Mice-like droppings observed on floor behind large mixer, under 3-compartment sink, under storage shelving in back hallway, near back exit door. Droppings also observed on shelf under grill at cook’s line, area cleaned and sanitized. Clean and sanitize all affected areas. Facility must provide a professional pest control report within 10 business days to fax or email provided. A follow-up to check on status of cleanliness will occur within 5 business days. Note: Failure to correct multiple repeat violations may lead to legal actions and the issuance of a citation.
  • Personal cell phone stored on pizza prep cutting board. Removed, sanitized.
  • (Repeat violation) Absorbent cloth used as a liner under pizza sauce pitcher. Removed.
  • (Repeat violation) Torn door gasket of pizza prep refrigerator. Gaskets collecting food debris.
  • (Repeat violation) Prep sink not firmly attached to the wall.
  • Basins at 3-compartment sink observed draining very slowly. No back-up observed. Provide work order for repair or contact inspector for a follow-up.
  • (Repeat violation) Wet mop observed stored in mop bucket. Mop head observed soiled.
  • (Repeat violation) Floor under 3-compartment and prep sinks observed unclean.
  • Soda spillage observed under soda syrup boxes in closet (hallway). Clean.
