The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/6/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations John Henry’s Pub was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Hot water valve at bar hand sink is difficult to turn on

  • The right side of the splash guard of the basement ice machine unclean. Clean and sanitize according to owner’s manual.

  • Rodent-like droppings observed in the far corner of the basement. Facility provide most current professional pest control treatment to MCOPH at time of inspection.

  • Hot water valve at the bar hand sink is difficult to turn on

  • Several wall tiles missing at the doorway next to the kitchen fryers

  • Dust accumulating on the ceilings in the kitchen/food prep areas (creates risk of dust falling onto food or food contact surfaces)

  • Dust is accumulating on the kitchen/food prep area ceiling vents
