The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/9/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Johnstown’s Clark’s Corner was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Noted the chest freezer next to the front cook area has torn gaskets and the lid is falling apart. Freezer is being repaired and held together with duct tape.
  • Noted old food residue in the hand wash sink, indicating uses other than hand washing.
  • Missing tiles and exposed wooden floor under the pizza oven and the proofer in the back kitchen area.
  • Noted two dead mice on a sticky trap in the basement area where single service items are store. Facility is not removing dead or trapped pests frequently enough.
  • Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required.
