King of Prussia Walmart fouls inspection; Fly-like insects in back room facility, stop using dish machine not reaching sanitizing temperature

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/13/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Walmart was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Current MCOPH license not posted at time of inspection

  • Facility lacking a current MCOPH CFSM. Facility has 10 business days to submit reciprocity application or submit proof of registration in an approved food safety course.

  • Dish machine final rinse temperature not reaching 180 degrees F. Facility may not use equipment for final sanitation until repaired and given written permission from MCOPH. Send completion work order stating final rinse temperature to MCOPH.

  • 3Fly-like insects in back room facility. Facility has 10 business days to provide proof of next professional pest control treatment to MCOPH

  • Employee personal items hanging from dry storage shelf.

  • Tongs stored on oven door handle along cooks line.

  • Leak at faucet of 3 compartment sink.
