The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/28/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 11 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

Splash guard of ice machine unclean. Clean and sanitize according to owner’s manual.

Cutting board with deep grooves and heavy discoloration

Can opener blade unclean

Common name label lacking on squeeze bottles at cooks line.

(2 times repeat violation) Fly like insects observed throughout prep area (Repeat) facility has 10 business days to provide professional pest control report to MCOPH.

Door propped open upon arrival.

Containers/boxes of food stored on floor inside walk in freezer.

Tongs stored on both lids of bain maire.

Hot water lacking at handing on expo line next to soda fountain machine. Water temperature 78F. Facility removed mixing valve and water temp 146F.

Heavy ice build-up on ceiling of walk in freezer.

Heavy dust like debris on vents above waiter expo line.
