The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Public Health (MCOPH) conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/28/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations La Collina Ristorante was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 12 violations were found and include one or more violations determined to be food borne illness risk factors.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Kitchen hand sink obstructed by trash can at time of inspection.

  • Improper date marking for shell stock tags after product has been consumed/sold.

  • Soda guns and holster at bar unclean – 2 times repeat violation

  • Prep room table-top can opener blade is unclean

  • Facility thawing frozen fish in reduced oxygen packaging environment.

  • Facility lacking visible accurate thermometers in several cold units.

  • Containers/boxes of food stored on the walk in freezer floor.

  • Wine bottles stored in the public serving ice at the bars ice bins

  • Knife stored in space between the wall and the back splash of the prep table in the bulk dry goods/mixer room.

  • Clean glassware and utensils sitting on absorbent cloth lining on the shelves and work tables in the kitchen/ware wash room

  • Excessive frost starting to accumulate on the interior walls of the kitchens ice cream reach in freezer

  • Lacking test strips for chlorine sanitizer
