The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on January 8, 2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the CVS in Lebanon was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Mouse droppings observed on shelving in warehouse area.
- Exterior door located in the warehouse area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
- Mop area obstructed and has stagnant water.
- Food facility is not removing dead or trapped pests from control devices frequently, as evidenced by observed old / decaying mice in pest control device in the warehouse area by the rear entry.
- Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the warehouse area due to accumulation of debris and obstructed areas with great quantities of mouse droppings throughout the entire area , including shelving.
- Warehouse area of the food facility is extremely dirty (including rodent droppings) and in need of cleaning.
