The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/11/2020*. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Sofra Mediterranean Restaurant was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.

The last time Sofra Mediterranean Restaurant  passed an inspection was March 30, 2016 during a New Facility Inspection. None of the subsequence inspections passed muster with the Health Department with findings of Food Borne Risk Factors cited at each:

  • Aug 24, 2016- 10 violations
  • Aug 31, 2016- 5 inspections
  • Sep 7, 2016- 3 violations
  • Feb 6, 2017- 9 violations
  • Feb 16, 2017- 2 violations
  • Aug 15, 2017- 7 violations
  • Aug 25, 2017- 5 violations
  • Feb 14, 2018- 9 violations
  • Feb 21, 2018- 2 violations
  • May 16, 2018- 1 violation following complaint
  • Aug 2, 2018- 4 violations
  • Feb 26, 2019- 4 violations
  • Aug 29, 2019- violations
  • Feb 19, 2020- 11 violations

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Counter-mounted can opener blade contains encrusted food debris and residue.  Per CFSM, this equipment is not used and will be removed.  Repeat Violation.
  • Can of Raid insect spray found stored with food products inside front room stainless steel storage cabinet. Product is not approved for use in this food facility nor can it be commingled with food products. Remove insert spray from facility immediately.  CFSM removed during inspection.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.    
  • Door gaskets on the prep unit are in poor condition. Replace to ensure proper operation.  Repeat Violation. To be Corrected By: 08/03/2020
