Lilly’s in Jenkintown inspection finds utensils in container of stagnant water, mask issue, Floor of walk in freezer observed with rusting and pitting

The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an expected  retail food re-inspection on 2/3/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Lilly’s Authentic Indian Cuisine was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 8 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • (2 times repeat violation) Facility was granted 6 months to install additional handwashing sink in ware washing area during change of ownership inspection conducted on 1/22/2020. The Facility has not installed sink at time of inspection. Facility granted 3 months to install during prior inspection – 4/13/2021. Failure to install sink by establishment deadline may lead to immediate legal actions.
  • Facility observed storing utensils in a container of stagnant water observed below 135F at cooks line. Facility voluntarily removed during time of inspection.
  • (2 times repeat violation) Floor of walk in freezer observed with rusting and pitting. The Facility was given 6 months to provide surface with a smooth, non-porous and easily cleanable finish during change of ownership inspection conducted on 1/22/2020. The Facility was given 3 months to provide required repairs during prior inspection – April 13, 2021. Failure to correct violation within established deadline may lead to immediate legal actions.
  • Cutting boards observed discolored and scored/grooved at cook’s line. Facility instructed to resurface or replace.
  • Facility lacking hot water at three basin sink. The Facility turned on hot water to three basin sink during time of inspection.
  • Leak observed from hot water faucet at three basin sink system. Facility instructed to provide work order to MCOPH from certified technician for repairs to three basin sink on or after 2/8/2021. EHS provide contact information.
  • Mop sink only has cold water plumbing installed. The Facility was given 6 months to provide hot and cold water to sink during a change of ownership inspection conducted on 1/22/2020. Facility was given 3 months to correct during prior inspection – April 13, 2021. Failure to correct violations by established deadline may lead to future immediate legal actions.
  • (2 times repeat violation) Facility granted 6 months at change of ownership inspection conducted 1/22/2020 to install smooth, non-porous, easily cleanable and approved ceiling tiles in areas above walk-in units and shelving where foods are cooled adjacent to walk-in units. The Facility has not installed approved ceiling tiles in these areas at time of inspection. Facility given three months to install during prior inspection – April 13, 2021. Failure to install approved ceiling tiles in identified areas by established deadline may lead to immediate legal actions.
