The Allegheny County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/28/21 at Mario’s East Side Saloon. During this inspection a total of 9 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Dried food residue observed on food-contact surface of knife stored on magnetic strip.
- Quaternary sanitizer solution at bar 3-bowl sink measured less than 200ppm
- Old mouse droppings observed in the following areas: dry storage, cabinets of lower bar, servers station, shelving of 2nd level bar.
- Gaps observed around perimeter of receiving door chute. (allow access to pests)
- No soap available at bar handwashing sink.
- No paper towels available at bar handwashing sink.
- Food packaging stored on the floor in dry storage area and 2nd level bar.
- Wet mops stored heads down next to ice machine
