The Montgomery County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/4/21. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Metropolitan, American Diner & Bar was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
Can opener blade unclean.
Can of ant and roach spray stored on wall mounted rack on cooks line amongst salt and pepper shakers and opened bottles of cooking wines. Spray immediately removed. Only a licensed pest control operator is permitted to use pesticides in a licensed food establishment. Spray discarded.
Cryo vacuumed tuna fish with packages marked to remove product from package before thawing observed in walk in refrigerator thawing in sealed packages. Products still frozen to touch. Products removed from package at time of inspection.
Sliding door lid to reach down ice cream freezer damaged with loose plastic pieces and duct tape. Repair or replace lid.
Dust accumulated on walls and ceiling tiles at ware wash machine area and rear prep area. Clean.
Dried food debris observed surrounding compressor at drawer refrigerator on cooks line. Clean and sanitize.
Grated floor drain at ice maker filled with stagnate water and not draining. If the facility cannot unclog drain the facility must have a licensed plumber clear the drain and ensure water is properly draining.
