The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/11/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Miss Oxford Diner was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • A full deep cleaning under and behind all food service equipment is needed in the small kitchen/food prep area.
  • Small kitchen/food prep area: Observed ambient temperature of United refrigerator (recessed wall reach-in) at 50F. The following food items were observed at >41F: raw ground beef 53F & raw marinated chicken 52F. Observed ambient temperature of Continental bain marie at 46F-50F. The following food items were observed >41F: sliced tomatoes 48F, mayonnaise 53F & deli ham 50F. All food was discarded during this inspection. Do not use these units until adequate repairs are made and the units are operating at <41F. Make necessary repairs. In the interim the six-door refrigerator located in the from service area will be utilized.
  • Small kitchen/food prep area: The hot water faucet handle was missing at the hand sink and therefore the hot water had been shut off manually under hand sink. The cold water faucet was operable. Hand sanitizer was provided at this hand sink. Wash hands with soap and water and dry hands with paper towels and apply hand sanitizer as an interim measure. Repair hand sink today or within 24 hours.
