Bella Christie and Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique

Pittsburgh, PA 15215The Allegheny County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 1/13/2021 at Bella Christie and Lil’ Z’s Sweet Boutique. During this inspection a total of 10 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Bulk storage bins in the far back decorating room area are unlabeled.
- Metal cans are unlabeled on the middle shelving unit in the back storage area.
- The chemical sanitizing dish washing machine is not sanitizing, based on multiple test strip results.
- There is no wiping cloth sanitizing bucket being used to wipe food contact surfaces following soapy water wash.
- There are no Quaternary and chlorine test strips to measure sanitizer concentrations.
- There are mouse droppings in the utility closet underneath the sink and a shelving unit
- There are mouse droppings behind the stand-up freezer in the far back decorating room area.
- No Certified Food Protection Manager on-site
- A plastic tub of baking ingredients in plastic storage bags is on the floor in the far back walk-in freezer.
- The following bulk storage bins have dispensing cups or scoops with the handles contacting the product: potato starch bin, donut mix bin, AP flour bin, pantry flour bin, and cake flour bin.
- The soap dispenser at the back handwashing sink is mounted on a wall above a food preparation table. The hand sink is located immediately next to the food preparation table and there is potential for water from handwashing to splash onto the adjacent table.
- Milk crates are used to elevate plastic ingredient containers and a box of marshmallows in the back storage area.
- There are water stained ceiling tiles in the far back decorating room area
- A ceiling tile is missing in the corner of the far back decorating room area
- The light shield at a fixture in the far back decorating room area is damaged.
- A mop in the utility room is stored in a mop wringer located in the utility sink.
- – A maximum allowable occupancy notice is not posted at the entrance of the facility as required
by the current Governor of Pa and Pa Secretary of Health orders.
– A Covid-19 Safety Procedures for Businesses notice is not posted at the facility as required by
the current Governor of Pa and Pa Secretary of Health orders.
