North Park Lounge in Cranberry TWP fouls inspection; Gnawed package of graham crackers, more than 20 rodent pellets

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/26/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the North Park Lounge was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the basement/dry storage area due to more than 20 REPS (rodent excrement pellets) observed on floor in dry storage area(by cement wall). Inspector also observed 1 bag of corn flour with gnawed packaging rep’s in area. Also observed 1 package of gnawed package of graham crackers in box. Also observed Rep’s in box. All products in box and corn flour disposed. Remove rep’s and clean/sanitize area. Remove and exclude pests from food facility.
  • Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Obtain QAC and Chlorine type sanitizer test strips.
  • The hand wash sink in the basement prep area was blocked by prep table and not accessible at all times for employee use. Keep handwashing sinks accessible at all times.
  • The handwash sink in the Kitchen area Between ware washing area and grill line)was blocked by food delivery/plastic crates and not accessible at all times for employee use.
  • Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed water leaking at the cold water valve of ware washing pre-scrape sprayer hose.
