The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 6/11/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations Nudy’s Cafe was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 4 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 25 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. DO NOT USE until repaired. Repair within 24 HOURS. Employees must wash, rinse and sanitize all equipment/utensils in the three compartment sink. Contact the Department once unit has been repaired.
  • Observed an accumulation of debris on the exterior of the soda machine. Clean within 28 HOURS and maintain cleanliness.
  • Observed a jug of milk mixed with chocolate syrup and an original milk with the expiration date of 06/03/20. Milk was voluntarily discarded during the inspection. Ensure all milk is discarded by or on the date labeled on the container. COS
  • Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration for the three compartment sink or the mechanical dishwasher. Purchase chlorine test strips within 48 HOURS. Ensure that employees are checking sanitizer concentrations daily.
