The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 22, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 3 violations were found.
The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:
- Food workers observed using bare hands for preparing ready to eat food (fruit). Disposable gloves, deli tissue, tongs or similar utensils must be used to prevent bare hand contact with ready to eat food.
- Numerous products observed out of date in the walk-in refrigerator. Monitor food stocks for signs of spoilage and use within specified time frames daily. Product discarded on-site.
- The bain marie on the preparation line (grill side) had elevated temperatures (degrees F): A. sauce 44; B. refried beans 42; and C. cut tomatoes 43. Service call has been placed for the unit. Move foods that require time/temperature control for food safety to a different refrigerator; do not use the bain marie until capable of holding such foods 41 or below.
