The Chester County Health Department conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/18/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Panera Bread in Tredyfrrin Township was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 6 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Observed several food products in the bakery walk-in refrigerator without proper date labeling. Ensure that employees are date labeling all prepared food products. Comply today and everyday.
  • The following non-food contact surfaces are not being cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of food and debris: 1. Hood interior above dishwasher 2. Walk-in freezer floor 3. Walk-in refrigerator floor (across from 3-bay)
  • The following food contact surfaces were observed to have food residue and were not clean to sight and touch: 1. Microwave interior, to the left of the soup station 2. Bakery pan that was observed with other clean pans, employee moved dirty pan during time of inspection. Clean and maintain cleanliness.
  • Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed leak under middle compartment of 3-bay sink. Repair leak and maintain all equipment in good repair.
  • Refrigeration unit- below oven across from soup station- ambient temperature was measured at 50F. Items were recently placed in this unit and employee moved items to a different refrigerator during time of inspection. Repair unit so that it is maintaining a temperature of 41F or below at all times.
  • Observed paper towel dispenser at the hand wash sink across from dishwasher in disrepair. Repair and or replace dispenser and maintain all equipment in good repair.
