The Bucks County Department of Health conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/10/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Pat’s Select of Warrington was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 5 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • There is no food safety manager certified by this Department (CFSM) on duty as required. A CFSM must be on duty at all times the facility is open and/or food is being prepared. A completed application(SA-71)for CFSM, or proof of enrollment in an approved safety class must be submitted to the Department.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020  
  • Hand sink by the dish machine is not supplied with paper towels. All hand sinks must be supplied with soap and paper towels at all times. Provide.
    Hand sink by the dish machine and the pasta station had sponges inside the sink. Hand sinks are for hand washing only and may not be used for any other purposes, including storing cleaning material. Keep hand sinks clear and accessible at all times.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020  
  • Can opener attached to the Prep table is unclean. Provide a deep and detailed cleaning, sanitize and maintain on a regular basis.
    Ice machine has an accumulation of mold-like build up. Must remove all ice, clean and sanitize all inside components of this machine before allowing ice produced to be used for consumption.
    Scoop for the ice machine was being stored on top of the ice machine. All utensils must be stored in a smooth, easily cleanable and non-porous location. The top of the ice machine is not a cleanable surface. Keep scoop in a container that is cleanable.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020  
  • The main prep unit, pizza prep unit top and walk in cooler are not holding proper temperature.
    All Time/Temperature Control for Safety (TCS) food must be cold held at 41F or below. All internal temperatures of products in this unit were between 43-47F.
    The main prep unit was turned down during inspection.
    Pizza Prep top products were moved to the bottom portion as this was holding temperature at 40F.
    The walk in cooler was also turned down during inspection, but has not shown a drop in temperature. If walk in cooler does not reach 41F, facility must move all products to working refrigeration (produce or beer walk in both at 38F) or discard products. Repair company was contacted during inspection. All TCS foods moved out of main walk in and moved to produce walk in and beer walk in.
    Facility was using the reach in freezer on the cook line. This unit was not turned on as they are waiting on a part for repairs. Facility may not place any products in this unit until it can work properly. All products were moved to walk in freezer.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/10/2020  
  • Unmarked spray bottle was being stored by the hand sink of the pasta area. All spray bottles, containers, etc must be labeled with contents and chemicals must be stored away from food Prep or storage areas.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020  
  • Facility receives frozen fish that is individually vacuum sealed. They pull the frozen fish and thaw in the walk in cooler. The individual packaging states “Remove from vacuum seal before thawing”. These filets were thawed before removed from sealed packaging. Must cut packaging open before placing in refrigeration to thaw.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020  
  • Facility has obtained a household rice warmer on the cook line. All equipment must be commercially graded (NSF, ETL, or UL for sanitation). Must remove this household piece of equipment and replace with a commercial piece of equipment.  New Violation. To be Corrected By: 02/11/2020
